Terms
Terms of Use
These terms explain how Who You With? may be used. By using the service, you agree to use it honestly, lawfully and only for its intended purpose.
1. What Who You With? is
Who You With? is an independent, participation-based political preference tracker and open democracy data project. It allows verified users to record their current political support and related political-context answers for anonymous aggregate reporting.
It is not a traditional weighted opinion poll, not an official electoral register, not a voting system and not an election forecast.
2. Neutrality
The service is intended to list registered political parties and relevant non-party options in a neutral format. The existence of a party in the tracker does not mean Who You With? endorses that party.
Who You With? does not use the tracker or donation system to support, oppose, promote or campaign against any political party, candidate or election outcome.
Users, parties and campaigners are responsible for their own political claims and campaign material.
3. Donations and project support
Who You With? may accept voluntary donations to help fund the project. Donations may be used for hosting, security, development, data maintenance, postcode and area matching, public awareness, and advertising the Who You With? tools and service so more people can take part.
Donations are not donations to a political party, candidate or election campaign. Donations do not affect results, party listings, rankings, area visibility, editorial wording, or how entries are counted.
Donation payments may be processed by SumUp or another payment provider. The payment provider may apply its own checks, terms, fraud controls and payment processing rules.
Who You With? may publish aggregate donation totals for transparency, such as totals received in the past 90 days, past 365 days and all time. Donor names, donor email addresses, payment references and political preferences are not published.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use the tracker and you must be using it for genuine civic or political-preference expression. You must not submit entries on behalf of other people without permission.
5. One verified user, one current entry
You must not create multiple accounts, use false email addresses, use automation, use proxy manipulation, or otherwise attempt to distort the tracker. The service may apply rate limits and anti-abuse checks.
6. Accuracy of your answers
The tracker relies on self-declared answers. You are responsible for the truthfulness of your own entry. You may update your current support if your view changes.
7. Results and limitations
Results are based on verified users who choose to take part. The data is self-selecting and should not be read as a representative sample of the entire electorate.
Public results are intended to show participation, local supporter strength and movement among verified participants, not to guarantee election outcomes.
8. Prohibited use
- No scraping, harvesting or automated entry creation.
- No attempts to identify individual users from aggregate results.
- No attacks, vulnerability testing or interference with the service.
- No misleading use of the site name to imply endorsement by Who You With?.
- No use of the tracker to publish unlawful, defamatory or threatening material.
- No use of the donation system to claim political endorsement, special ranking, editorial influence, or preferential treatment.
9. Suspension and removal
Entries, accounts or access may be restricted, deleted or rate-limited where abuse, manipulation, security risk or unlawful use is suspected.
Entries count in public results for 24 months from the latest save or update. After that active counting period, entries may become dormant, stop counting publicly, and remain recoverable for a further 12 months before deletion unless refreshed.
10. No warranty
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Reasonable efforts are made to keep it accurate and available, but uninterrupted service, complete accuracy or permanent availability is not guaranteed.
11. Liability
Who You With? is not liable for political decisions, campaign decisions, public statements, reliance on aggregate results, third-party actions, payment-provider interruptions, or loss arising from service interruption except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes
These terms may be updated as the service develops. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
